Description
Angiotensin peptides exhibit pressor (vasoconstrictive) activity through binding of the angiotensin II type 1 (AT1) receptor, increasing blood pressure and volume. Angiotensin I (AT I) is a cleavage product of angiotensin and serves no primary biological purpose other than to function as a precursor to angiotensin II.
